Itinerary
Saturday, May 6th – Depart Calgary
Monday, May 8th – Arrive Toamasina at 8:30 am; Stay at Hotel Joffre or Hotel Noor overnight.
Tuesday, May 9th to Thursday, May 11th – Ride to Mahambo (90km on flat paved roads); camp or stay in bungalow at Ylang-Ylang or La Pirogue if available. Thursday is Kelsey’s 20th birthday!
Friday, May 12th to Monday, May 15th - Ride north; flat paved road until Soaniera-Ivongo, then dirt road, with 6 major river crossings; camp as much as possible.
Tuesday, May 16th – Arrive Mananara in the morning; rest day. Stay at Chez Roger and arrange trip to Aye-Aye island.
Wednesday, May 17th – Rest day; go to Aye-Aye island in evening.
Thursday, May 18th to Saturday, May 20 – Ride north to Maroantsetra; mostly dirt roads; camp as much as possible.
Sunday, May 21st – Arrive Maroantsetra; rest day; stay at Hotel Antongil.
Monday, May 22nd – Arrange tours, guides, etc for Masoala. Also, confirm return flight to Toamasina.
Tuesday, May 23rd to Friday, May 26th – Masoala National Park
Saturday, May 27th – Fly back to Toamasina.
Sunday, May 28th – Ride 12km north to Parc Ivoloina; camp overnight.
Monday, May 29th – Return to Toamasina.
Tuesday, May 30th – Depart Toamasina.
Wednesday, May 31st – Arrive Calgary, 10:20pm
